The Sustainable Tourism Development Foundation, in collaboration with the Phuket Old Town community, will reduce carbon dioxide emissions with the support of the Phuket Provincial Administrative Organisation (Or Bor Jor), Phuket City Municipality Environment, Pollution Control Office No. 15, Pollution Control Department, and Big Data Office (a public organisation).
This initiative will commence in the Old Town area of Phuket, where residents will sort garbage. The organic waste will be sorted and placed in green bags before being processed into fertiliser by Or Bor Jor. Meanwhile, grease will be collected in pink bags, increasing the efficacy of wastewater treatment and improving water quality in the Bang Yai Canal.
