Wat Phra Borommathat Sawi was registered as a national archaeological site on December 21, 2001. Legend has it that in the year 1260, King Sri Thammasokaraj stayed at an abandoned temple within this area. He encountered a flock of crows and heard their cries atop a brick mound. The king ordered the bricks to be removed and discovered a casket containing Buddha's ashes. A new stupa was then constructed and named "Phra Borommathat Kawi Pheek," later shortened to "Phra Borommathat Kawi," and eventually transformed into "Phra Borommathat Sawi". This stupa is characterized by its golden spire, standing 70 meters tall, housing Buddha's ashes inside. Additionally, a museum in front of the stupa is open for visitors every day from 09:00 AM to 05:00 PM.
